What I have learned in these past 2 1/2 years since I started this blog

Well I started this blog about 2 1/2 years ago. Back then I was a naive 17 year-old high school senior. Now I'm a 2nd semester sophomore in college. Almost halfway done with college. So I thought I should say what I have learned these past 2 1/2 years.

First I learned that I could love more than one artist at once. That happened when I became a fan of MacKenzie Bourg. Remember him? The guy who was on "The Voice" and who I raved about. The guy who I thought was awesome? And I wanted to marry him? Well...yeah. And since then I became fans of One Direction, Nic Hawk, and 5 Seconds of Summer. Hanson will always remain my favorite band and favorite artists no matter what. It was because of them that I started to get into fandoms and into artists, YouTubers, and figure skaters. Speaking of which....

I learned to become fans of YouTubers. I love O2L. Though since I started my sophomore year of college, I had less and less time to watch their videos. So I stopped catching up. However, in January of this year (The year when this post was published), they stopped putting up videos on that channel. O2L was a collab channel of 6 (Well actually 7) YouTubers and they needed to focus on their own channels so they stopped O2L. However, they're not deleting the channel. I also like Matthew Santoro, Rob Dyke, WatchMojo, list25, Danger Dolan, Wacky Wednesday, Taylor and Martina (They're a new YouTube channel. Two British "Uni" students who are in a relationships and their videos are so cool and makes me laugh), and more and more. I have seen O2L once live in DC. I'm glad I saw them when they were still up and running.

Also since the winter Olympics, I have become a fan of figure skating. I've always like figure skating in some way or form since I was younger. In fact my 17th birthday party was at an ice rink. And during the 2010 Olympics, I learned names of more skaters. Before that the only ones I have heard of were Kristi Yamaguchi, Michelle Kwan, Sasha Cohen, and Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov, Paul Binebose and Laura Handy, and Christopher Bowmann (From a People Magazine special on the section of deaths in 2008). Then in the 2014 Olympics, I went from just liking it, to LOVING it, becoming a fan of the sport, learning about the rules, and becoming fans of skaters. My three #1 favorite skaters are Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan, Jason Brown from the USA, and Kevin Reynolds from Canada. Kevin is my athlete crush and the guy I'm focusing on. I have been to one ice show and one international skating competition. After the ice show, I met the 8 members from the US figure skating team that competed in the event at the Olympics. In the team event, Russia got gold, Canada got silver, and the USA got bronze. Jason and Kevin competed in the team event so they're a bronze and silver Olympic medalist respectively. Yuzuru won gold in the men's event, so yes he's an Olympic champion. I have seen Jason skate twice. I have yet to see Yuzuru and Kevin skate. Hopefully one day. I like a lot of skaters also, but those three will remain my #1 favorites.

Now you might be wondering, "Wait, you've been raving about MacKenzie and wanting to marry HIM. What happened to that?" I'll tell you later. Hold on.

Anyways. I learned other stuff as well.

Like I learned how to blow-dry and flat-iron my own hair. And put on my own make-up. I learned how to start making appointments for myself and taking responsibility for more stuff. I also learned how I like to study for tests and stuff. And that's by listening to music or watching videos at the same time. I also learned how to write good essays. Or decent essays to be more accurate. I also learned how to plan out class schedules for myself because you have to do it for your majors. Also I learned to accept that I need help with academics. So I go to tutoring for chemistry. Oh. I learned how to use equipment in chemistry and biology lab. Chemistry lab is pretty stressful but you have to know how to be safe. That's the number one rule. Also I learned how to speak for myself when I'm out with my parents getting food or at a place asking for something. And I get frustrated when my mom sometimes try to speak for me.

I still haven't learned how to be clean with my room and I still haven't gotten my driver's license yet. Still don't feel ready yet. Plus I still don't eat the healthiest.

Now, I will tell you another thing that I have learned these past 2 1/2 years. And it relates to on what I said on what you guys might be wondering why I'm not raving about MacKenzie anymore. First I'll tell you the thing I've learned. And EVERYONE should follow this:

Trust your instinct. If something doesn't feel right, it's probably not right to you or not right at all. I have that a lot. Especially when I take chemistry tests. If I feel like I did good, then I probably did good. If I feel like I did sucky...I probably did really bad. Though I know sometimes I'm wrong. Like at the end I feel like I didn't do so hot in the class but ended up with a B-. True story for general chemistry II. That was the result of a HUGE curve. And also I'm feeling that now with my test I took today in my organic chemistry II class.

How does that relate to MacKenzie? Well in a number of ways. There was a few times where the way he behaved in some tweets he put out that made me feel iffy, upset, and mad. But I never wanted to to admit I was mad and upset AT HIM. Because I was blind. Plus some of the DMs replies he sent to me sounded cold or a little insensitive maybe. Some of the tweets were him yelling at this one fan of him that was kind of annoying but I kept my cool at her though I was somewhat assertive with her. She kept pestering him and he kinda exploded on twitter a bit. I remember I was upset at that and didn't know how to react so I bit my arm. Enough that I saw a few broken blood vessels. And there was another fan (Fan B) that he thought was the one that I previously mentioned (Fan A). And me and very few others knew for a fact that Fan B was NOT Fan A. And a few other times he kinda said that at her to not fool him. I actually posted a pic of a note I made onto Instagram and my frustration of people not believing in Fan B. I kinda put #macpack on it. And a month later he MUST have either been searching through that hashtag or stalk my Instagram. Why? Well he commented on it. And he said that I know for a fact it's her, he won't speak to her about it, and that he does know it's her. I got embarrassed. Enough that I wanted to cry. So I apologized to him that he had to he it. Though I'm NOT sorry for believing that Fan B isn't Fan A.

Also, he did a kickstarter for his EP. He had to raise $15k in 30 days. We did it. I donated some money and I got about 5 people to donate $69 altogether. For 30 days I've been encouraging people to donate, lost some sanity, shed some tears of frustration, and stuff. It's been 1 1/2 years since we reached the goal, some people received their prizes. However, it was only the ones who back money to receive the prize of receiving a drawing from him signed that got it. Another single has gotten released. But the hype was only a minuscule compared to the one he released in February 2013. And NO EP yet. It's been that long and nothing yet.

And almost 2 weeks ago, I found out something about him that made me so mad. I won't get into exact detail what it is, but basically, we've been duped in that he cared about his fans and stuff like that. It made me so happy that I changed my focus onto Kevin Reynolds 13 months prior. Because I'm sure I would have been heartbroken and crying so much.

That's why I said I should have trusted my instinct. Because those signs were clues and evidence to what I found out. But I was naive, wasn't interested in that much stuff, and of course teenagers are naive. We're all guilty of being naive of stuff here. It wasn't until college when I started to gain interests in more stuff. I'm really glad I did. It's made me more well-rounded in interests. And I learned a lot. We never stop learning. No matter how old you are. Every day we learn something new. Even if it's something TINY.

One year as a fan of MacKenzie Bourg

Exactly one year ago, on Monday, October 8, 2012, I went
into the computer room in my house and my little brother was showing my mom videos of the Blind Auditions from Season 3 of The Voice and after they left, I started browsing through the videos and I came across a picture link to a Blind Audition that had a REALLY cute guy with dark brown hair and glasses. According to the description of the video, his name was MacKenzie Bourg and he sung "Pumped up Kicks." I thought to myself, "Oh he's cute. Ehh." Then I decided to watch the video and when I heard him sing, I was like, "Oh my gosh!!! " I heard one of the most beautiful voices ever. I immediately fell in love with him and his voice. I was immediately a fan of him. And from that day on, I never looked back.

I want to thank MacKenzie so much for entering my life. Without him, I would still have had a crush on a guy who is an idiot. Also because of his fandom, the MacPack, I was introduced to so many people who I consider my closest friends. And I want to give shout outs to them right now. Whit N. Nooner, Sydney Brooke Alvord, Xandria Desimone, Madison, Phair, Jill Unti, Chrisla Ruth, Jenny Eliassen Eggen, Gabrielle Delahoussaye, Krystal Sarson, Cynthia Gardner, Nathalie Fortier, Ashlyn Sydnor, Emily Gilmet, Natalie Colwell, Courtney Gronewold, Kaley Jordan, and many more. Some of them im not as close to as others, but who cares? I finally knew what it was like to have friends that I can really connect to because we all share a common interest: MacKenzie Bourg.

MacKenzie also made me realize what it meant to love someone for their personality. From his UStreams, tweets, and pictures on Instagram, MacKenzie made us know he was a really nice and caring person. And a hilarious

I cannot believe it's been a year since I discovered MacKenzie Bourg. Since then, I followed his Instagram, Twitter, UStream account, and liked his Facebook page.

Plus he read 3 of my comments on his UStream, received 2 shout-outs from him, he liked 3 of my pictures on Instagram, commented on 1 of my pictures on Instagram, liked 3 of my comments on three of his posts on his Facebook page, followed my twitter, and replied to my DMs 44 times.

MacKenzie Bourg is my favorite singer and 2nd favorite artist. Plus also my celebrity crush. Haha.

I seriously cannot believe how much has happened to me in one year. I had no idea then on that how my decision to click the video that he was on forever changed my life. Stuff I never dreamed of happening to me happened. I only met one of my MacPacker friends (Krystal Sarson) and I would love to meet
the rest of them very much. Until I became a fan of MacKenzie, I never knew what it was like to have a celebrity crush, a favorite singer, more than three really close friends that I met on the internet that were out of state, be followed by my favorite singer on Twitter, feeling like I had REALLY good friends, really feeling like what it was like to love someone for their personality, and more. I never dreamed that those things would happened. MacKenzie made those things happened.

I would say that the top three days of my time as a fan would be the day I
discovered and became a fan of him, Tuesday, January 1, 2013 (When he
followed my Twitter), and the day I saw him perform.

I feel really lucky that all these great things have happened to me because
of him. MacKenzie, if you have read this much so far, I would love to thank
you from the bottom of my heart. If I ever see you perform again and buy
meet and greet tickets, I would tell you these things in person.

Every year when I was in high school, I was introduced to something that
changed my life forever. In 9th grade, cheerleading changed my life forever. In 10th grade, knitting changed my life forever. In 11th grade, Hanson changed my life forever and became my favorite band and favorite artist. And finally, in 12th grade, MacKenzie Bourg changed my life forever and became
my favorite singer and 2nd favorite artist.

MacKenzie Bourg, thank you for being a part of my life. You really are a magical human being and I look forward to many more years as a fan of you.

Sincerely, Kylie Haymaker

Sunday, December 2, 2012

I apologize for not updating you guys!

Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry I haven't updated you guys in like almost a month so I I'm going to give you the load down on what happened:

Week of:

October 28- November 3: Well Hurricane started brewing that Sunday and thanks to one of my guy friends, I found out there was no school the next 2 days. The next day we had to go to a hotel cause we were worried that trees might hit us. I brought a lot of knitting and I slept in the hotel. The next day I found out from my dad that our house wasn't damaged but the power was out our backup generator stopped working. So we had to call someone and we thought that we got it fixed so I went home and a few hours later, it stopped working so I had to pack clothes for school and go back to the hotel and bring school stuff with me. The next day was Halloween so I dressed up as Taylor Hanson from the "Weird" music video. I went to school from the hotel so that was weird. I went to English class after ceramics and our teacher brought us doughnuts to eat and we had to work on our group projects. The dude I like wasn't in my class that day. I found out he was sick. :( Yeah so I had to stay after school cause we were teaching the JV and Freshmen cheerleaders cheers for the Bell Game that Friday. After that, my nanny picked me up and we were on our way back to the hotel when I saw that I had a notification on Facebook from one of my friends from my close friends list and she lives on my street. Her status said that the power was back on so I told my nanny and then I called my brother and he said to go home and check my bathroom to see if it's truly back on cause if the backup generator is working, then the power's back on. So that's what I did and the lights came back on. Then we packed up our rooms and we went to get dinner and go home. That was also the first time I did not go trick-or-treating. Two days later was my last home game, senior night, and my last game as a high school cheerleader. It was bittersweet.

November 4- November 10: Election day came and went. Then I watched the Live Playoffs of The Voice and I vote like CRAZY for MacKenzie Bourg! But the next night came and he was eliminated. :'( I was SSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MAD!!!!! The next day I finished knitting the squares and had a few borders going along. So I started knitted more borders. I also had my first college interview and my first rec cheer practice of the year!

November 11-November 17: The Tuesday was touching bases so we had a 3 hour delay. The Wednesday I believe I watched a UStream, from MacKenzie Bourg plus I created a UStream account. That Saturday was also the first time I did a front walkover and Isaac Hanson's 32nd birthday!

November 18- November 24: I tried to donate blood at my synagogue's blood drive but my hemoglobin was too low. I was really upset about it so I started eating food that had a lot of iron. I also watched another UStream by MacKenzie and one part gave me a heart attack. I also found a new tradition for me: Wear cute PJs when I watch UStreams by MacKenzie. For the next three days, I ate four cups of multi-grain cheerios (one cup=1 serving=45% of my daily iron. So 4 cups equal 180%) so I could raise my hemoglobin levels. I went to the honor roll assembly and that same day I saw another UStream and typed my transcript up very quickly so I could watch it. Then the day before Thanksgiving, we had a two hour early release and the night before I scheduled an appointment to donate my blood the Wednesday. So about 45 minutes after I got home, I went to the Red Cross to try again. They  tested my hemoglobin and I was so nervous! My hemoglobin was 13.8! So that was 1.3 higher than the minimum levels! So I donated my blood and it felt very good. Then Thanksgiving Day came and we were at a brunch at a family friend's house and I was talking to the daughter and some of her friends and one of them asked me if I knew the guy I like (for the purposes of the story happening here I will call him J, the friend of the daughter S, and the guy I like's friend Z)  and I was like "how do you know him?" S explained to me that she knew his friend Z. You see S was at a friend's house and Z was there. Z and S started talking and communicating to each other and then Z asked S out to Homecoming and he said he would bring J along but he didn't come. Then Z got increasingly mean and annoying in the car and then they dropped him off at target and didn't come back to get him. Then I showed S the Facebook messages that Z sent me in August of 2011 when he was messing with me and she told me to tell him what happened today. So, I messaged him, "Im at a thanksgiving brunch and this girl here told me that she dropped you off at target." So then I saw from my Facebook messanger app that he saw it. Then I showed it to the girls. Thanksgiving dinner was yummy. I made homemade macaroni and cheese. Two days later I finished knitting all the borders and sewing them all into strips.

November 25- December 1: That sunday I celebrated the first anniversary of me becoming a Hanson fan and I finished out of of 5 seams total left for the blanket. I came back to school and I found out that my essay article that I wrote to corrolate with the transcript wasn't due until Tuesday....hehehe. Oh well. The dude I like came in and he told someone behind that he was sick. I mean he looked sick! I felt bad for him. I was going to tell him about the funny thing, but I decided to not do it. I then started working on some stuff. I went home and started reading my book so I could watch a UStream in case it happened on Tuesday. Then the next day I saw that MacKenzie had reached another 1000 followers on his twitter which meant UStream! To celebrate, I wore my pink New Orleans T-shirt (Cause he's from Louisiana) and then I took notes on the weather in geosystems. Then I worked on my skeleton with my partner in return period which that day it was in a way that I had return periods for Anatomy and French. Anywho, I worked on the skeleton and the my next return period I saw that there was only 7 people counting me cause the extended essays for the IB diploma students. The dude I like wasn't there so that concerned me. I then talked to a girl in my class and I read more of my book. Wednesday, I asked him in French what he was sick with and he said strep. the Cheer awards was fun. My paper plate award was "The Most Improved." I also got the Coaches Award! I looked up the symptoms of strep and I thought to myself, "I don't think he has strep." On Friday, when I got home from school, I checked on HNET and saw that Zac was online so I sent him a PM asking him how the new music was going along and I told him that it would be the first time I would be excited for a new album to come out. And then about maybe 20-30 minutes later....HE REPLIED!!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!! I WAS BOUNCING UP AND DOWN LIKE CRAZY!!!!! The next day I had 4 hours of cheer practice and I have now finished 3 of the 5 seams.

December 2: I found out sad news. A girl who was a cheerleader at my school who graduated in 2009 and had taught me how to do basic diving 6 years ago had died.....
